Special Summer Classes

We are very excited to offer specialty classes this summer. These classes are similar to other summer camps or programs in the area but are offered locally at Franklin Discovery Academy by the preschool and childcare teachers your children may already be familiar with. These classes are held daily from 12:30-1:30 with a different class offered each day. You may sign up for any or all of these classes depending on your child's interest. We are not requiring a minimum age so please read the description and decide if your child will be capable of participating. At the end of the summer we will have a special showcase displaying the wonderful things that your children have learned and created.

  • Summer classes run from May 30 to August 11

  • Classes are held daily from 12:30 - 1:30 but each individual class is once a week

  • Can be added as an addition to preschool or childcare

  • The cost for attendance per class is $80.

In the event that a class does not reach full capacity, classes may be combined or canceled. Based on popular demand, classes may be offered on multiple days and varying times. If you have any questions or suggestions for classes please email us at

Monday - Music

Hey parents! I am Staci Place and I am so excited to introduce your kids to the fun and exciting world of music. This summer the kids will learn all about rhythm, how the music goes up and down in pitch, and how to use different instruments! Learning these things will help your kids understand music and really enjoy singing wherever they go! I look forward to meeting all of you and teaching your kids something that I love...MUSIC!

Tuesday - Spanish

Hola! I'm Jenna Smith and I'm excited to teach your children Spanish this summer. The kids will have the opportunity to learn the basics of Spanish including the days of the week, greetings, the alphabet, numbers 1 to 15, and much more. I'll also be teaching them the primary song, Estrellita (Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star) that we will perform at our End of Summer Showcase.

Wednesday - Mad Science

Hi my name is Emma and I will be teaching the Mad Science class. My goals for your children are :

 1. Foster the curiosity that leads to exploration and discovery.

2. Increase students overall engagement and interest in science.

3. Make the world come alive using science.

I cannot wait to experiment, explore, and discover during our hands-on activities this summer!

Thursday - Art

I'm Kaylee Woolsey and I'm very excited to be teaching the art class this summer!! This class is designed for children who love to create.  We will be exploring the color wheel, classic and contemporary artists,  as well as the emotional and communicative aspects of art. Join us this summer as we engage in fun and interactive projects that stretch our imaginations.

Friday - Dance

Even the youngest little dancers will enjoy getting their wiggles out while they begin to experience the fun of mixing music with movement. We will learn basic dance positions, a few short dance sequences, and use fun props. The children will learn cooperation and coordination while they build their confidence in a social environment.  Let’s DANCE!
